Coach Profiles
Gillian Galea - Head Tennis Coach ITF Level 2
Gillian Galea formed part of the junior squad of the national team as the age of 12 years; she spent her junior years travelling to camps and tournaments around Europe. At the age of 16 she spent some time in Germany training at ‘Niki Pilic Tennis Academy’ where she realised that she wanted to become a tennis coach. She wanted to try and help youngsters experience the life of an athlete and what it entails; the dedication, the hard work together with the good times.
When she came back to Malta she decided to continue her studies whilst keeping up her training and started coaching friends and family. She graduated in B. Communications at the University of Malta. In 2001 she completed her International Tennis Federation Level 1 course and is now a fully qualified tennis coach certified level 2 by the ITF, running a school of over 200 players.
